The winners were selected by a panel of independent experts representing the university community. One of the selection criteria was an interview in a foreign language - French, German or English.
The competition fuelled students' competitive spirit, gave them confidence in their knowledge and allowed them to discover new fields of interest.
This year, 50 students were selected and will receive an annual scholarship worth 2,800 euros to help them pursue their studies, paying for accommodation, books and materials etc.
Since its launch in 1996 at the initiative of the Soros-Moldova Foundation, 3,800 students have entered the competition and 1,080 have been awarded a scholarship.
