Purpose of the job

As a member of the NetDevOps team you will be responsible for the development and support the advanced global IP network that adheres to the highest standards to provide robust, low latency services to OEG customers.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Interacting with Network/Tools Engineering and Network Operations teams to create innovative solutions to reduce network impacting incidents, improve speed and accuracy of changes, reduce manual work and also enhance network tooling visibility.

  • Interacting and participating with security engineering and infosec teams to introduce an automation framework that will help them automating workflow and save time.

  • Appling latest technologies related to DevSecOps and support security engineering and infosec to build the complete CI/CD Cycle.

  • Attending Daily Stand up, Sprint review and retrospective, etc.

  • Contributing to the design and enhancement of the global backbone and datacenter infrastructures.

  • Leveraging networking tools to identify and mitigate network anomalies.

  • Crossing and merging the barriers that exist between engineering, software development, testing, and operations teams and keep existing networks in mind as they design, plan and test.

  • Working in an Agile framework, and will be part of the Scrum ceremonies like Sprint Planning, Daily Stand up, Sprint review, and retrospective

  • Collecting feedback from technical staff on development needs

  • Analyzing application data and traffic flow data to identify and improve on sub-optimal network behaviors.

  • Leveraging and assisting in the development of automation tools and processes to proactively monitor the health of the network and respond to events.

  • Working with Solution Architect to document the existing standards and develop designs to improve the efficiency of the automation solutions

  • Participating in developing policies, procedures, and technical reports associated with operating and maintaining the global network.

  • Guiding and assisting deployment engineers in the implementation of new topologies and services.

  • Creating conceptual diagrams, visual mock-ups, and manage detailed user interface specifications

  • Conducting automated usability & functional testing

  • Engaging in requirement specification process for new software functionality.

  • Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers in interpreting and reacting to network events.

  • Participating in code reviews.

  • Assuring that all user input is validated before submitting to the back-end.

Job specification

Education

  • B.Sc. Electrical Engineering: Electronics and Communication

  • B.Sc. Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • ITI Gradutes with any B.Sc. degree.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in DevOps, Web development as a freelancer or full-time employee
  • Good technical background in IP Networks
  • Good technical background in Cloud infrastructure
  • Have a good level of understanding for the following:

o 3G/4G/5G Mobile environment

o NetDevOps - DevSecOps

o Linux

o Python

o REST API's

o JSON/XML

o Ansible

o Git

o Containers/Microservices

o Infrastructure as Code / NetConf/Yang

o Solid experience in one of front-end frameworks (React / Angular / Vue.js).

o CI/CD

o Layer 5-7 of the OSI Model (Session, Presentation, and Application)
