Identify great employees and give them international experience, encourage cooperation and generate value: that’s the purpose of our e-talent programme, which “premiered” last year from March to June as a pilot project. Eight talents from our Europe region took part – here’s what they did.

E-talent aims to reveal willing and able employees in all our European countries and give their careers an international flavour. Ten countries pre-selected candidates on the basis of their motivation, their ability to drive change and work with foreign colleagues, and their knowledge of the telecom industry. A pre-requisite for selection for all candidates is their commitment to be internationally mobile within the Europe perimeter.

Eight talents identified

In Moldova, Poland, Romania, Spain, Slovakia, Armenia and the UK, four men and four women were chosen on the basis of a rigorous and impartial methodology.

Divided into project teams, they had four months to deal with a business issue. Their working methods were inspired by digital culture: agility, autonomy, user experience, collaboration, openness to the outside world, and horizontal (cross-departmental) organization. These principles simplified and sped up collaboration and innovation despite the constraints: the distance, the multicultural team with professionals from various lines of work, and time management issues.

Stefan Buschi, Senior Vice President Europe Human Resources

“E-talent is the ultimate combination between business and people strategy: select best potentials. Based on our strategy and business priorities, we put together a very diverse team and let them work on a common initiative.

Anne Beaugendre, the Programme Manager

“The team’s energy came from their ability to create a real momentum of cooperation, abandoning the conventional practices of leadership and power to capitalize on the team’s diversity. Not to mention their fantastic commitment and determination to deliver the proposal that’s best for Orange!”

Last year's project: Orange Money's feasibility in Europe

The eight selected talents carried out a feasibility study on launching Orange Money, a product from Africa and Middle East, in Europe. They reviewed in particular the marketing, sales, IT, networks and financial aspects of the service’s rollout.

This year, new e-talent programme has begun in March. Time for a new challenge!
