You can become a cybersecurity engineer with Orange!

01 May 2019
Ingénieur cybersécurité 500 x250

In partnership with the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM, National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts) and the Union des industries et métiers de la métallurgie (UIMM, Union of Metallurgy Industries and Professions), Orange Campus, Orange’s competencies and skills accelerator is now launching its first training course in the field of cybersecurity. The innovative, on-the-job training programme combines academic learning with Orange’s own professional practices.

If you are passionate about new technologies and cybersecurity, this is a unique opportunity to obtain an engineering diploma that is recognised by the engineering accreditation committee by completing a paid training programme – free of charge. In concrete terms, we are offering you the chance to join a study course as part of which you will train for a year while working in a position with an Orange Group cybersecurity team.

Wondering if you can apply?

This training, which will only be available in France, is open to candidates with a master's (or equivalent) in the field of IT, networks or science or a bachelor's (or equivalent) plus 3 years of professional experience in the fields of cybertechology, IT or networks and includes the option to follow personalised refresher courses. So why wait? If you are applying from outside the Group, this training will take place within the framework of an apprenticeship contract.

Otherwise, for all Orange employees, this course will also be part of a professional development project and will be linked with a transfer.

An innovative course: cyber escape game, seminar on humankind and ethics...and Capture the Flag

To give you the best possible chance, you will start with a novel selection of activities including individual and group challenges through a cyber escape game. You will be given the chance to upgrade your skill level ahead of the course to ensure you succeed in your studies. Then you will begin the course, during which you will be trained over a period of one year in a work-based situation within an Orange cybersecurity team.

Through e-learning, you will be taught various key technical subjects that are undergoing huge growth: cyberdefence for critical infrastructures and security auditing/consulting.  You will also receive training on the geostrategic challenges of cybersecurity, security project management, information systems architecture and security, networks and the Cloud, pentesting techniques, security audits and governance, computer forensics and managing security incidents and crises. You will learn how to counteract attacks and malicious code and to master the legal and regulatory framework with regard to cybersecurity.

A seminar on the human factors will enable you to examine the individual and collective skills with regard to humankind and ethics. Self-awareness and your interactions with others are at the heart of the human skills we nurture at Orange and are essential in the field of cybersecurity.

A 5-day exercise in cyberdefence training for information and industrial systems will enable you to on-board all the professional and human skills acquired and to grasp the concept of the Security Operation Center (SOC). You can then challenge yourself during the Capture The Flag (CTF) event at the end of the training.
