about the role
Context
Local Finance Team (LF) is the interface between the Accenture Team (based in Chennai, looking after and responsible for all the accounting processes) and Central Accounting Office at the Group level. LF also ensures compliance with local fiscal and other regulatory regulations.
Mission
- As the Local Accounts Manager, you should ensure that we deliver properly to both internal & external customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for accounting processes and tasks including AP & AR processes, general ledger, and account reconciliation.
- Assisting the outsourced accounting team.
- Supervision the day-to-day operation of the accounting.
- Ensuring timely and proper payroll process with the contribution from the HR team
- Maintaining accurate and up to date records of all financial transactions.
- Review, prepare and validate journal entries on the system and general ledger.
- Preparing monthly management accounts and schedules.
- Supervise the account payables and receivable activities.
- Ensure timely bank payments.
- Assisting in the reconciliation of bank statements.
- Supervising and controlling receiving of cash, cheques, and deposits funds.
- Validation and verification of payments for accuracy and accountability.
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- In charge of the computation of VAT, TDS and other statutory returns for submission to the MRA.
- Processing tax payments and monthly PAYE/CSG/NSF/LEVY returns.
- Cooperation with external auditors to carry out annual external auditing, assist with year-end audit and tax queries.
- Participate in Budget preparation process.
- Assist the Local Finance Manager as and when applicable.
- Review and improve accounting and operating procedures with appropriate internal controls and measures.
- Other financial management duties assigned by the Local Finance Manager and the Regional Financial Controller
- Participate in special projects as deemed necessary.
about you
- BSc in Accounting, Finance or ACCA Level 3.
- Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar role as Accountant.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, IFRS.
- Advanced MS Excel
- Experience with general ledger functions.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and good analytical skills.
- Familiarity with accounting software
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
