about the role
Responsibilities
- Participate in bid qualification and definition of the bid strategy Mid to large, complex or non-standard sales projects relating to all OBS Business Units solutions line (including in future OBS’s strategy BUs).
- Provide presales design support for both new and existing customers requiring Orange Business Services Solutions across LAN, application optimization, unified communications, security, IoT, and service management in support of sales.
- Support customer-facing team members to complete solution design validation and costing activities
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the external tools that are required in conjunction with internal tools, systems, and processes in order to develop quality / approved technical proposals to customers.
- Maintain a high degree of technical knowledge of all Orange Business products, services and solutions sets.

Skill Profile
(i) Knowledge:
- Possesses sound knowledge in security
- Will be responsible for assisting the Sales team and providing Networking (MPLS, Internet, P2P, Campus LAN, WIFI, SDWAN, SDLAN), UCC solutions (ET, IPT, VoIP, Video, Telepresence, Contact Center), Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and M2M/IoT solution.
- SSL and IPSec VPN
- Have experience in designing and proposing large complex solution
- Have the capability to take on technical lead role in a virtual bid team
- Be visionary and able to propose new and innovative ideas/solutions to customer
- Experience in sales support and design of telecommunications solutions:
- SD-WAN Solutions, such as Fortinet, VeloCloud, Cisco, Silverpeak
- UCC OR Technical Experience in UC such as Zoom, Microsoft, Cisco
- Knowledge of LAN, WAN, and voice integration is highly desirable
- Working knowledge & and experience with network security controls such as firewalls, proxy, and internet protection (Zscaler & others)
- Understanding of cloud technology is highly desirable
- knowledge of M2M/IoT is a plus
- Authentication and authorization – 2 factors, LDAP / Active Directory integration and considerations
- Proven ability to collect and interpret customers’ requirements to produce cost-effective and efficient solutions designs to meet the complex needs of our customers
- Knowledge in any other principles is an advantage
(ii) Ability to: engage at a detailed technical level
- engage and partner with internal team members at a detailed technical level
- deliver proposals that articulate Orange value for the benefit of the customer
- understand key partner and vendor products as required to deliver fully integrated solutions
- Technical knowledge to facilitate the design of managed services
- Ability to work independently to achieve an outcome
Education / Experience
- Minimum 7 years related work experience in customer-facing organizations within the telecom or IT industry or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering within the telecom industry or equivalent
- Experience in technology and/ or management consulting is a plus
- Proven track record in creating and positioning solutions to customer needs
- Industry-wide knowledge/market leadership in Network Services / Security / Unified Communications & Collaboration / Infrastructure.
- Knowledge of M2M / IoT a plus
- Personal and professional credibility to challenge customer assumptions / internal responses.
