about the role

We are seeking a skilled and Principal Engineer (User Experience/Interface) to join the Digital unit at Orange Business. As the Principal - Sales Platforms, you will be responsible for leading high-performing engineering teams, optimizing User experience / User Interface CPQ architecture, and managing multiple quoting, pricing, and configuration front end solutions. Your primary goal will be to ensure to lift the user experience and efficiency of our pricing and quoting systems for telecom products and services to next level. This position requires a deep understanding of Sales and CPQ solutions and the ability to align technical implementations with business objectives

Activities and Responsibilities

Technical leadership:

  • Overseeing the design, architecture, and deployment of CPQ systems with a focus on user experience, front end performance optimization and scalability.
  • Optimize the legacy fragmented Sales systems to a coherent industry aligned platform, improve efficiency, optimize costs while ensuring high quality and delivery

System design and implementation

  •  Architecting end-to-end "Lead to Cash" processes, ensuring integration between Sales Motion systems, Configuration and Pricing tools, and other business systems.

Collaboration

  • Working closely with designers, product managers, engineers, accessibility experts, and cloud teams to align solutions with business objectives.

Mentorship and knowledge sharing: 

  • Providing technical guidance to Platform engineering teams and mentoring on best practices in web development.

User experience optimization

  • Designing and implementing comprehensive UI/UX solutions tailored to customer problems, product goals, and technical requirements.

Innovation and technology adoption

  • Keeping up to date with the latest advances in AI technology and exploring ways to leverage them in developing automated and highly efficient Lead to Cash business processes.

Quality assurance

  •  Participating in all technical aspects of team deliverables, including quality, performance, maintainability, and scalability.

Communication

  • Effectively communicating technical decisions (architecture and design) to business and engineering team

about you

Technical Skills

  •  Expertise in JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js) for building dynamic UIs
  •  Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design techniques
  •  Experience with state management libraries for handling complex UI states in CPQ systems
  •  Knowledge of data visualization libraries for presenting pricing and product information
  •  Familiarity with RESTful APIs and GraphQL for integrating with backend CPQ services
  •  Understanding of performance optimization techniques for large-scale web applications

Domain Knowledge

  •  Deep understanding of CPQ processes, including product configuration, pricing strategies, and quoting workflows
  •  Familiarity with various pricing models such as tiered, subscription, and bundled pricing
  •  Knowledge of sales processes and the role of CPQ in the quote-to-cash cycle

Leadership Qualities

  •  Ability to mentor UI/UX teams and collaborate with product managers and backend engineers
  •  Strategic thinking to align CPQ UI initiatives with business objectives
  •  Strong communication skills to articulate complex CPQ concepts to stakeholders
