about the role

Data is the backbone of our strategic decisions and growth. To fully leverage its potential—while ensuring high standards of quality, compliance, and trust—we are rolling out a comprehensive data governance strategy.

Orange Business is forming a Data Governance Pole within the Data Management team to drive and oversee this initiative. As our Data Governance Officer, you will take part in defining, implementing, and upholding these standards, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive effective data usage, comprehensive data lifecycle management, enhance decision-making, and maintain regulatory compliance across the organization.

You bring a strong expertise in data governance processes and technologies, hands-on experience with data quality and cataloging, and an analytical approach to solving challenges. You can translate complex technical concepts into clear business terms and coordinate effectively with Data Owners, Data Stewards, and other business stakeholders. Key responsibilities


  • Data Governance implementation and operations 
  • Deploy, maintain and improve the global data governance framework and processes 
  • Drive day-to-day operations such as data definition, data quality controls, and process enforcement. 
  • Automate data governance tasks and controls 
  • Ensure consistent application of data governance policies 
  • Monitor data governance processes and activities 


Support and Stakeholders engagement


  • Provide first-level support on data governance topics to business stakeholders 
  • Collaborate closely with Data Owners, Data Stewards, Data Architects, Data Engineers, Data Analysts and other business and technical stakeholders 
  • Animate and coordinate a community of Data Owners and Data Stewards to align on objectives 


Reporting and Compliance


  • Track and report on data governance KPIs 
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, ...)  

Contribute to the ongoing refinement of the global data governance strategy 


about you

 

  • 3-5 years experience in a data governance related role, preferably in telecom or services industry 
  • Strong understanding of¿data governance frameworks 
  • Proven expertise in data governance processes and tools 
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, ...) 
  • Practical experience with data cataloging, data quality monitoring, and MDM 
  • Knowledge of SQL and programming languages (e.g. SQL) 
  • Familiarity with reporting tools 
  • Devops mindset 
  • Effective communicator: able to translate technical concepts into business language 
  • Strong coordination and interpersonal skills with both business and IT stakeholders 
  • Adaptable and curious, with a drive for continuous learning
