Purpose of the job

The Financial Reporting Head is responsible for overseeing the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial insights to support the organization's decision-making processes. This role involves managing the financial reporting team, coordinating with various departments, and implementing best practices in financial reporting.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, monitor financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Team Management: Manage and mentor the financial reporting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Reporting Systems: Implement and maintain financial reporting systems and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial results and insights to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the integrity of financial data.
  • Strategic Planning: Provide financial insights and support strategic planning initiatives.
  • Group reporting: Oversee the consolidation and reporting of financial data.

Job specification

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CMA, MBA, or other relevant certifications is preferred

Experience.

Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in financial reporting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Skills and abilities

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting software and ERP systems.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Very good English both spoken and written.
  • Very good computer skills.

  • Flexibility & ability to work in a team.
