mission / role purpose

The Senior Cloud Network Engineer is accountable for integrating new functional devices, VNF/CNF services, connectivity and on time error-free configuration changes in Orange SD-X network and respective services, using HMI (CLI, Gitlab pipelines, scripts) or contribute to coding intended for this purpose. In order to accomplish this goal, this individual will interface with Vendors and internal entities responsible of Cloud Infrastructure and services design,deployment and monitoring of hardware and services (including operational teams). This individual will also need to develop and provide the highest level of support related to SDN/OPC Infrastructure.

Operational validation of cloud network infrastructure, service design, orchestration chain, security flows, network related changes. 

 

 

Minimized single point of failures and verified failover scenarios. Validated capacity and performance of Cloud Infra and virtualized appliances during provisioning and change management stages. Minimized time to mitigate or resolve the service or shared infrastructure caused by faulty system or software related issue.  

 

Create, test and maintain reusable code  (Python/Ansible scripts, APIs) intended to deploy and maintain shared cloud infrastructure elements based on input from Vendors, Design and operational teams.

 

 

Safe delivery of new platforms and services with minimum customers disruption and adapted through the Automation Ecosystem. 

 


Study and build of migration plans to implement target topology and/or design.

 

Proper customer notification and minimized disruption and impact during changes. Changes delivered on time as per upstream teams and business expectations.

Coordinate and activate managed customer SDN changes:

  • Understand all technical details for the change, topology and traffic flow.
  • Notify customer if request is out of configuration guidelines and validate scheduling and impact

track and report on all changes received.

Increased success rate and satisfaction on customer changes. Increased customer services availability.

 

Create detailed and clear Infrastrure or Service Change Guidelines to Network Operations to smoothly implement changes with a combination of automated and manual steps including fallback and pre-post checks checkpoints. 

 

Guarantee failure detection and fallback procedures during changes for owned activatioin or handed over to external teams. 

Proactive audit of Cloud infrastructure to identify potential vulnerabilities and weakness. 

Own infrastructure and service levelling, compliance to security and engineering rules and ensure minimum level of operational and security weaknesses on the SDN infrastructure. 

 

Decreased failure rate related to latent configuration mistakes, faulty system and improved Clound infrastructure security (reflected on security audits).

 

Internal support and presentations on the areas of automation and data analytics

Accelerated provisioning, volume configuration and decreased testing times. Improved documentation and adaptability of internal tools.

  1. Provide weekly report to management on activity and performance

Improved and informed management decisions making.

Promote and mentor automation and network related skills within team

Leveling of Network Engineers on the areas of SDN/Virtualization and Automation.

Maintain a thorough understanding of the corporate tools, systems, and processes required to provide quality provisioning and Change Management.

More effective interface with external teams leading to short delivery times with optimum performance.

 

Technical Lead of projects requiring edge technologies on respective area of expertise.

Innovation and Introduction of new features.

Provide and implement workaround to minimize the incident downtime and restore the infrastructure and services. 

Document knowledge base symptoms and workaround for issues. Analyze impacts to mitigate risks.

Proactively identify opportunities to prevent new incidents.  

Minimize the number of incidents impacting our Customers.

Incidents Resolution with shortest time to re-establish service to foster Customers Satisfaction

education, qualifications, and certifications

College/University Degree or Master in Engineering, Computer Scince or other relevant area.

English Fluent speaker

Minimum of 8 years related work experience in organizations within the Telecom or IT/Software industry.

Python and/or Ansible experience on IT/networking environment.
