about the role

Mission / Role Purpos

The IT Asset Management (ITAM) Specialist is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of IT assets—both hardware (HAM) and software (SAM)across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments. This role is critical in ensuring compliance, driving cost optimization, supporting vendor audits, managing licensing contracts, and integrating governance frameworks for enterprise-wide asset visibility and control.

Key Responsibilities - (SAM) :

  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of software assets across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, ensuring accurate tracking from acquisition to retirement.
  • Ensure compliance with all software license agreements, vendor terms, and internal governance standards including ISO/IEC 19770 and ITIL best practices.
  • Maintain an accurate, up-to-date software inventory aligned with the CMDB, ensuring data integrity across systems and tools.
  • Support internal audits and external vendor audits by preparing compliance documentation, usage reports, entitlement records, and license evidence.
  • Monitor software usage across all platforms, identify underutilized or unused licenses, and implement reharvesting strategies to reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Legal, Finance, and IT stakeholders to validate contracts, manage renewals, and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Raise and track purchase requisitions and purchase orders in line with procurement policies and coordinate closely with Finance for budget alignment.
  • Maintain visibility over key contract timelines, including renewals, support expirations, and termination clauses to avoid service disruptions.
  • Implement, manage, and optimize software asset management 
  • Drive automation initiatives in software asset tracking, compliance monitoring, and reporting to improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop and enforce software asset management policies, procedures, and governance frameworks in coordination with risk, compliance, and IT security teams.
  • Generate regular reports and dashboards on software compliance, usage trends, budget consumption, and financial risks.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to reduce software spend through license optimization, contract consolidation, and improved vendor negotiation.
  • Act as a key point of contact and subject matter expert for software licensing, compliance matters, and audit preparedness across the organization.
  •  Promote awareness and adherence to SAM standards and educate internal teams on licensing obligations and cost-saving strategies.

Hardware Asset Management (HAM):

  • As HAM Specialist , you would be responsible for managing IT Asset in  Multicloud Environments 
  • Youwould be responsible for managing the lifecycle of IT hardware assets deployed across Azure, SecNumCloud-compliant platforms, and other multi cloud or hybrid infrastructures. 
  • This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with vendor requirements, optimizing cloud-hosted asset usage, and maintaining governance across geographically distributed IT environments.
  • You will collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, procurement, and compliance teams to enable effective visibility, lifecycle management, and financial control of virtual and physical infrastructure resources supporting business-critical services.
  • Maintain inventory and metadata of all hardware assets supporting Azure-hosted and SecNumCloud-certified environments (servers, appliances, firewalls, etc.).
  • Ensure accurate tracking of cloud-hosted physical assets provisioned by IaaS/PaaS providers across Azure, SecNumCloud, Bleu, Flexible Engine, and others.
  • Support asset tagging, classification, and location mapping in alignment with regulatory (GDPR) and internal security policies.
  • Partner with cloud operations to map physical hosting of virtual machines and containers to underlying assets for lifecycle governance.
  • Oversee procurement, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning of hardware used in cloud infrastructure (private racks, cloud interconnect, storage appliances).
  • Track and manage hardware warranties, maintenance contracts, and refresh cycles to ensure uptime and optimal performance.
  • Ensure compliance with group policies related to SecNumCloud and sovereign cloud obligations, including approved suppliers and contract restrictions.
  • Coordinate hardware audits and ensure readiness for regulatory inspections (SecNumCloud, ISO/IEC 27001, etc.).
  • Analyze usage data and cloud-native metrics (e.g., Azure Cost Management, Log Analytics) to correlate hardware asset demand and optimize procurement plans.
  • Identify opportunities for hardware reuse or redistribution across private cloud, DR, and backup zones to reduce CAPEX/OPEX.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards (e.g., Power BI) to monitor asset compliance, utilization, and risk status.
  • Collaborate with finance and procurement teams for budgeting, forecasting, and chargeback reporting.
  • Act as the HAM point of contact for cloud infrastructure projects (including private and sovereign cloud deployments).
  • Maintain interfaces between HAM tools and ITSM/CMDB platforms to ensure real-time visibility and data integrity.
  • Drive adoption of automation tools and scripts for asset onboarding, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT hardware assets across data centers, offices, and remote sites.
  • Oversee hardware lifecycle processes: procurement, deployment, maintenance, decommissioning, and disposal.
  • Optimize asset utilization and refresh strategies to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Manage warranty and support contracts, ensuring timely renewals and alignment with service coverage.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and procurement teams to align IT hardware with operational and budget needs.

 


about you

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3–7 years of experience in IT Asset Management (HAM & SAM).
  • Proven track record with enterprise software licensing with some key Software Editors (ServiceNow , PEGA , Ciena, CSG , Splunk , Salesforce , Microsoft MCA /EA, Oracle ,  Adobe, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of any of the ITAM tools: ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow, SCCM, OpenText, Lansweeper.
  • Hands-on experience in vendor audit preparation, license optimization, and IT contract negotiation.
  • Deep understanding of ITIL, ISO/IEC 19770, FinOps, and cloud cost management principles.
  • Experience managing physical IT assets in global enterprise environments.
