about the role

Your role is to work in the following topic: “Network Service Ordering automation with GenAI”

Global context and problematic of the subject

Thanks to digitalization in industry and society, new markets will open up for business services or more generally for what are called verticals (vehicular, health, etc.). The ability to slice the network into potentially isolated segments while benefiting from the economies of scale made possible by using a shared infrastructure plays a key role in 5G/6G, distinguishing it from previous mobile generations.
For large-scale geo-distributed systems, determining how to appropriately introduce intelligence into the network is essential for high-efficiency operation. In this regard, there are two deployment paradigms (centralized vs. distributed) for AI-based networking in the state of the art. Defining an AI-native network slicing architecture for 6G networks is important to enable synergy between AI and network slicing, thus facilitating intelligent network management and supporting emerging AI services.
The challenge is to make network automation easier, particularly with the introduction of GenAI.

Scientific objective – results and challenges

At the level of the European project Unity-6G, in collaboration with our academic and industrial partners, we are working on the issue of multi-level and multi-tenant network automation by introducing satellites. Within the Unity-6G project, you will:

  • Study the state of the art of applying GenAI approaches for network automation.
  • Participate in the realization of a proof of concept (POC) to automate customer service deployment.
  • Develop procedures to ensure service level requirements (SLA): data exploitation and monitoring.
  • Apply AI approaches for resource optimization and predict actions to ensure the SLAs of deployed services throughout their lifecycle.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to the writing of deliverables and scientific papers.

about you

· Skills (scientific and technical) and personal qualities required by the position.

          • You have knowledge of network and service architecture.

          • You have knowledge of machine learning and GenAI

          • You have knowledge of data analysis.

          • You have already worked on at least one of the following programming languages or   technologies: python, pytorch, tensorflow, OpenAI/Gym, Keras, Scikit-Learn, stable baselines3.

          • You are curious and you like innovation and research.

          • You have very good analytical and synthesis skills.

           • You are fluent in technical English.

· Training required: you hold a PhD in computer science.

 · Desired experience: You have completed a thesis in an academic or industrial laboratory in the field of IT, data science or AI.

additional information

You wiil be participating in the European project Unity-6G, which aims to create a highly sustainable and scalable integrated architecture, native to AI, capable of meeting the diverse requirements of 6G networks by leveraging advanced technologies such as distributed ledger technology, semantic communications, and digital twins of networks. This initiative seeks to enhance the performance, economic efficiency, and reliability of the integrated services and applications of 6G networks.
