Purpose of the job

Perform converged Packet operation activities, including the implementation of Packet related Work orders, projects integration and handling the Packet related problems within the contacted SLA. In addition to maintain Packet system KPIs.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Coordinate with other Technology, non-Technology teams/departments and vendors or other external entities in case of customer complaints and implementation of new Data services projects and even in the daily operations , enabling timely and successful launch of new marketing Data services products and services provided to Orange data customers.
  • Prepare data services network documentation and monitoring for both new projects and operational network is maintained along with proper Quality of service and availability requirements to meet Orange business goals.
  • Participate in Data services issues and problems impacting Orange services/revenue/image that involves multiple teams and require excellent communication with Orange different teams and vendors, and ensure a proper methodology during the diagnosis of these problems, taking appropriate actions and handling the business priorities.
  • Perform regular network modifications through work orders including security, routing, access , all IP network ,..etc
  • Administrate the Data services elements in all Orange switches including but not limited to ( routers , switches , Load Balancers , FWs.) and network security devices that protect Orange data services such as M2M, CWS , WEB ,WAP ,MMS , Blackberry and data roaming.
  • Implement all S/W upgrades and corresponding fix releases delivered by supplier, ensure that the implementation matches the operations standards & KPIs ( revenue & outage time minimization etc.).
  • Test and accept newly installed PaCo equipment and perform redundancy checks before being introduced to the operational network.
  • Audit on daily, weekly and monthly network healthy checks done by PaCO/DS first line team to proactively assure network availability.
  • Participate in vendor management and control activities for the various Data services/IP network vendors ( meetings & conference calls & evaluations )
  • Report Data services Network performance and activities to top Department Management when needed.
  • Review and update operational procedures as needed and propose solutions to enhance the operational environment & improve the converged DS network KPIs .
  • Interface with business continuity team in doing the recovery plans of the converged data services
  • Accept & test all newly installed Converged Data services links and maintain them ( IPX,GRX,INTERNET.) which support services carried over PaCo (CWS , internet , Blackberry ) by working with correspondent service providers end ( DN eng , Orange France & RIM ).
  • Provide level 2 support on 24X7 for all Converged Data services equipment present in all Orange converged data services sites ( including the WIFI customers in the huge premises.
  • Share accountability of the Converged Data services migrations (LTE migrations for security devices, WIFI customers migrations between WIFI controllers , 2G/3G FWs migrations/offloading .)

Job specification

Education

  • Bachelor of science in Engineering, Electronics, Communications or Computer Major.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in data network implementation and troubleshooting, one of which in teams' leadership.
  • Technical certification CCNP/CCDP/CCSP/JNCIP/JNCIS/CCIE/JNCIE re preferred, JNCIA, JNCIS are preferred.
  • Good Knowledge & experience of the IP network (Routers, switches, AAA, FWs, MLSs managed by different vendors (cisco, juniper, Nokia)
  • Knowledge & awareness about PaCO devices (SGSN, GGSN, IP works, AAA)
  • Experience of WAN technologies ATM, FR and X25, PaCo equipment.
  • Good background in networking and different data services (WEB, WEP, MMS, Blackberry, roaming, CWS).
  • Good knowledge of data network & mobile communication enabling him to support other team members in charge.
  • Good knowledge about monitoring/alarming/fault management systems (NETSCOUT, NNM, NETACT, TRAFFICA, OVPI, TEKTRONIX) enabling him to deal with & solve monitoring problems.
