Job Summary:
The Non-IT Technical Consultant will provide expert guidance on infrastructure management, power & cooling systems, security, and other non-IT aspects of the State Data Center (SDC). The role involves ensuring seamless facility operations, compliance with industry standards, and supporting government initiatives for digital infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Center Infrastructure Management:
- Building Management system, UPS systems, HVAC, cooling, fire detection and suppression systems.
- Monitor and optimize energy consumption to improve efficiency.
- Ensure the physical security of the data centre, including surveillance and access control systems.
2. Facility Maintenance & Vendor Coordination:
- Coordinate with vendors for facility maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with SLAs (Service Level Agreements) related to non-IT infrastructure.
- Work with third-party providers for power backup, environmental monitoring, and security.
3. Compliance & Safety Management:
- Ensure compliance with state and national regulations (e.g., TIA-942, BICSI, ISO 27001, and other relevant standards).
- Conduct periodic audits and risk assessments for infrastructure safety.
- Implement best practices for environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.
4. Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain records of all non-IT assets, infrastructure upgrades, and maintenance activities.
- Prepare reports on data centre uptime, energy usage, and equipment performance.
- Assist in preparing technical documentation for policy decisions.
5. Coordination with IT & Government Authorities:
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the smooth functioning of the data centre.
- Support government agencies in implementing Smart City and Digital India initiatives.
- Assist in planning for capacity expansion and future infrastructure needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- B.E or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering / Electronics Engineering
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in managing data centre facilities or large-scale infrastructure.
- Knowledge of power distribution, HVAC, fire suppression, and security systems.
- Familiar with data centre standards
Preferred:
- Experience working in a government or public sector project.
- Good Understanding of Data Centre, Smart City and e-Governance infrastructure.
- Certifications like CDCP (Certified Data Center Professional), CDCS (Certified Data Center Specialist) or equivalent.
